Dear Members and Friends
I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, from Kempton Park in Johannesburg from our General Assembly Executive Meeting which commenced today for the next 5 days. We are still in sitting.
During the Assembly Opening Service this morning our Interim Moderator (Dr Prof Rev Graham Duncan and I were called out off the main stage). Graham then rushed through to Pretoria.
It is with a VERY heavy heart, and much sadness to inform you that Paula Cross passed away earlier this afternoon.
This is an absolute shock to all of us, and we are all in mourning.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Paula’s family during this time and I kindly request you to please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayer during this time.
Paula was Session Clerk in this congregation for just over 32 consecutive years and has been a pillar of strength to me, when unsure, I always had someone with 32 years as a Session Clerk that I could rely on, and tap into.
The Moderator of the UPCSA publicly expressed his condolences to the Cross Family and to the entire St Columba’s congregation and prayed for the family and our congregation.
Paula has returned home, another “good and faithful servant!”
