Notice: Temporary Suspension of Public Worship Services

Good morning Members

I trust you are all well. Yesterday we had 8 members at Church. The Session have discussed over the week-end with regards to the number of COVID infections rising again, specifically with Gauteng being the number 1 hot spot in the country, and with the number of UPCSA members and colleague Ministers and their families contracting COVID, that it would be in our best interest to close all public worship services until the end of July 2021. We did not take this decision lightly, but with the age of our congregation and the various jobs we all do, coming into contact with a lot of people; etc. that it would be the right thing to do.

A number of our sister congregations have also closed again during this period. We will continue to do pre-recorded services, and send them out on facebook, our web-page and over WhatsApp. We will continue to communicate with you and keep you posted. Please also continue to pray for our country and our church as we navigate through these turbulent times.

Our financial year-end is this month and we are probably going to end the 12 months now on a deficit of close on R 300,000 which is extremely worrying. Please continue to support our congregation financially so that we are still able to pay our Minister and staff their salaries. Our banking details can be found on the pew leaflet which will be sent out each week and posted on the website (www.stcolumbachurch.co.za)

Please feel free to contact the Minister, the Session Clerk or Church Office, if you require any assistance or pastoral counselling.

We will chat again in due course. Have a wonderful week.

Kind Regards

Ryan Johnson
Session Clerk
