You will notice on our pew leaflet you will no longer find the telephone numbers or email address of elders or our Minister.
This is to comply with the POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) that is signed into legislation and comes into force on 01 July 2021, which prohibits us from public sharing contact details and personal information of employees and members of both companies, organisations, business, charities, etc. etc.
This applies to members too who have their own companies and organisations.
If you are looking for the Minister, or an elder, or the contact details of another member, please contact the Church Office (Suzanne). Suzanne will then contact the member and obtain your permission for your contact details to be shared with the person requesting it.
Suzanne then keeps a record of this for audit purposes should we be asked by the regulator to supply proof thereof.
As much as this sounds laborious and tedious, there are far too many fraud scams and fraud being committed using other people’s personal information (known as identity theft).
It is for this same reason that government has implemented this piece of legislation and it is currently being implemented in all our neighbouring countries too, and has been existence overseas for a few years already.
We have a duty to one another to protect one another’s personal information.
Our morning services have commenced again in the Sanctuary at 09h30 for those who will be joining us each week.
