Devotion – Monday 29 June 2020, by Rev Craig Morrison

Good morning friends and family,
It’s lockdown day 95!

Isaiah 42: 16
“I will lead the blind on roads they have never known; I will guide them on paths they have never travelled. Their road is dark and rough, but I will give light to keep them from stumbling. This is my solemn promise.”

– The Lord is amazing in the way God can turn things around for us. This is the same promise in Proverbs 3: 5f “With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. Always let God lead you, and God will clear the road for you to follow.”

– We may see darkness, and hard and rough places and realities. The world is complex and full of grey. Choices can be difficult to decide upon. Competing voices and values cloud the issues. And we often see the world as we are rather than as it is.

– Still, the Lord sees light ahead for us, and sees good in store for us. God knows the way. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. Nothing else matters. Keep focussed upon him.

– In fact, God goes ahead of us to make this light and opportunity a reality. “My yoke is easy and my burden is light,” Jesus says. Don’t let others make it hard for you.
Trust God.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you that, right now, you are busy turning my situation around. You are bringing light into my darkness, and you are preparing a smooth path ahead for me. Amen

Have an awesome Week
