TO ALL IN THE UPCSA
The UPCSA is planning the second annual 24-hour prayer day to start on the 25th November at 18:00 and end on the 26th November at 18:00. The Moderator of the General Assembly will conclude the prayer between 18:00 and 18:30 on the 26th November 2022. The 25th of November marks the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence. We also want to pray for unity, peace, justice and reconciliation in the UPCSA, church catholic, and in our societies. It is also important to pray for the UPCSA’s Decade Programme – Going for Growth: Sowing, Growing and Reaping.
Herewith attached, please receive the proposed plan. The prayers of the organisers are as follows:
- People should stick to allocated slots.
- Encourage the formations (Presbytery, Cluster, Fellowship) to be creative and plan in advance on what they are going to do and who is going to do what. Moderator and Clerks will coordinate and lead their Presbyteries. The Convener of the Church Fellowships Committee will take the responsibility for the Fellowships, working with the Presidents and Secretaries of the Fellowships. The Clerk of Assembly will work with the Clusters of General Assembly Committees.
- Each formation should submit a plan of how they are going to use their slots. These may be sent to Christine who will forward them to the organisers not later than the 20th of November 2022.
- Formations should get as many people as possible to participate. The platform has a capacity for 300 participants.
- Members of the UPCSA are encouraged to remain in the platform for as long as they can afford. This means, people should not just join when it is the turn of their formation to participate.
- Members may submit their prayer items to Christine in advance, as they wish.
